What was the highlight of KM Hotel
Great location and superb breakfast!
The hotel has a great location, in the middle of the old town in Edinburgh. Most of the main attractions are at a walking distance so it makes it easier for tourists only visiting for a couple of days. The buffet breakfast was the best, it had both warm and cold options and great coffee. I was really surprised as I didn't expect this from a small hotel. The room is a reasonable size, and the shower was pretty spacious. The room has a desk if you need to work and USB ports so that you can charge your phone without an adapter. Bed was super comfy and the room was spot clean! Would definitely come back.
The hotel doesn't have an elevator, so if you are bringing a big suitcase you might want to request a room in one of the lower floors. We stayed 3 nights and then came back for an extra night after our tour in the Highlands. The only issue we had was that the bathroom extractor would turn-on on its own and it was really loud. We did not have this issue in our first room so could be that it was only in an issue with this particular room. Also, one side of the bed is right next to the wall so this might be uncomfortable for couples.

What was the highlight of KM Hotel
Nice hotel, well worth a stay
The hotel is in a very good location, just out of the centre of York in the middle of 'university land'. Close enough to easily walk in a couple of minutes but far enough that it is quiet in the evening. Staff were fab and really helpful with directions, taxis, luggage, pens etc. Hotel was very clean and well equipped in the room, USB plug sockets, hairdryer, iron etc. Beds we're really comfy and fine for my other half who can struggle with his back when beds are too soft. The breakfast was a typical hotel breakfast and well worth the money. You can park at Holyrood NCP which is a short (uphill) walk to the hotel. The hotel will give you a discount voucher for the parking.
The only negative is the fact that this hotel does not have a lift (which they make no secret of).

Friendly Stay
The accommodation was very clean. I booked it last minute and the staff was very friendly with helping me get to London. I unfortunately forgot the staff’s name but I know he was from Australia. He took the time to help me find the bus station and that was very helpful. The hotel was also very close to a good ramen restaurant.
The room faced a school which makes things a bit difficult in terms of opening your window for natural sunlight. Plus you can hear the students so be mindful of that.
